Use This Nifty Mini-Program to Track Covid Info in Beijing
With the recent increase in Covid cases in Beijing, many people have been wondering how many cases are going around and what areas have been locked down. Thankfully, there's a mini-program that's here to help.
Dubbed 新冠肺炎疫情地图 xīnguān fèiyán yìqíng dìtú (access it via QR code below), it's meant to provide up-to-date tracking of all the goings on related to Covid in the capital.
On the right, you might find tabs that read But what are they?
Lockdown zones (封控区) are places like residential areas or surrounding areas that have seen an uptick of confirmed and asymptomatic cases. These places will implement a 14-day lockdown. During this time, residents cannot go out, and food supplies will be delivered to their door.
At the bottom, click on 封管区域 fēng guǎn qūyù and the program will tell you how many lockdown zones there are in Beijing.
As of press time, there are 65 lockdown zones in the capital.
A lockdown can be lifted when all of the following conditions are met:
If there are no new confirmed or asymptomatic cases that have been found in the region in the past 14 days.
If the last close contact in the area tested negative more than 14 days since the last exposure
If all staff in the area test negative 48 hours before the lockdown is lifted.
Control zones (管控区) are defined as places where confirmed or asymptomatic cases have visited at least 48 hours before they tested positive. If anyone tests positive within the control zone, the control zone will become a lockdown zone.
At the bottom, click on 封管区域 fēng guǎn qūyù and the app will tell you how many control zones there are in Beijing. As of press time, there are 142 control zones in Beijing.
Control zones will be opened up after the same conditions for lockdown zones are met, i.e. no one in the area or visiting the area within a 14-day period since the first case was found has tested positive.
Confirmed points (确诊点) are defined as a designated area where a single confirmed or asymptomatic case traveled to when they tested positive.
Places that Covid patients have traveled to in the past seven days. At the bottom, click on 患者轨迹 huànzhě guǐjī and it will tell you the travel records of Covid patients within five kilometers.
A medium-risk area refers to an area that has no more than 50 cumulative cases within 14 days, or an area with more than 50 cumulative cases and no cluster of cases wiithin 14 days.
A high-risk area refers to a region where the cumulative number of confirmed cases exceeds 50 and clusters of cases occur within 14 days.
Click on 中高风险 zhōnggāo fēng xiǎn and you'll be able to find all the medium-risk and high-risk areas in Beijing.
